We are a small but steadily growing learning & development company founded in 2014, that creates training courses for many well-known organizations from the NGO / nonprofit or corporate sectors.
To help the company continue to grow, we need an experienced writer and editor to work with our clients and oversee other writers, to ensure that all scripts for our training courses are delivered on time, according to the company's guidelines and standards. The ratio of managing others to writing (yourself) will vary depending on workload.
Prior experience in the learning industry is extremely helpful, but not absolutely necessary. The company's processes and style guidelines are well documented, and training will be provided.
This is a 100% virtual, term-of-project role with potential to grow into a regular part-time or even full-time position.
Specific Responsibilities:
-Review source material provided by clients (e.g., whitepapers, web pages, books, old training slides, etc.) and translate it into well-organized, easy-to-follow training materials.
Interview client subject matter experts to better understand our audience and the tasks we are training them to perform.
-Proofread/edit other writers’ work and train them to follow the company's guidleines and templates for outlines, scripts, and slide decks; and ensure tasks are completed within the allotted hours, to the expected level of quality.
-Provide direction to graphic designers on how to represent concepts, visually.
- Monitor progress against deadlines and budgets.
Successful candidates will be asked to complete a 90 minute, paid skills test
In addition to writing skills, we are looking for someone who is highly reliable and responsive, with good communication and collaboration skills, and available for long-term contract work.
You will be working directly with clients, and must have excellent interpersonal, client management, and interview/discovery skills.
