I am looking to register a band name as a trademark so that I do not have to use my legal name in the songwriting credits or anywhere else for privacy and safety reasons. The point is to personally retain all legal ownership, rights, royalties, etc to my music in all countries despite my own personal legal name not appearing on the songwriting credits or anywhere else publicly. This should all hold up in court if the need ever arises with copyright issues, to claim ownership of my music, etc.

Job:
- Confirm that this is all true and correct, or if there is an easier way to go about it.
- Give me the step by step process from square one for everything I need to do to be properly set up as described above- ie. trademark offices, a PRO?, service like Songtrust?, copyright each song with US before releasing or not necessary?, etc
- Confirm other details as someone familiar with the space- e.g. the band name I want is already trademarked for a furniture store- does this matter?

Please tell me your experience in this area and how long it would take to set it all up, be approved, etc.
