We have a new program for kids 16 to 19 who are in the hospital and rehabilitating from various disabilities.  We are encouraging them to get up and move around.  These kids will document their movement and win medals based on the distance that they’ve moved.  We have 5 awards.

If you move 10 kilometers you get a 10k medal.
If you move 13 miles you get a Half Marathon medal.
If you move 26.2 miles you get a Marathon medal.
If you move 50 miles you get the 50 Miles medal.
If you move 100 miles you a 100 Miles belt buckle.

The highest achievement is the 100 mile belt buckle.  We want this belt buckle to have imagery from the Pacific Northwest (Washington’s Northwestern area).  This buckle will depict a scene with:

Seattle’s space needle
An Orca whale in the Puget Sound
Mount Rainier in the background
Forestry trees in the foreground.

Each medal will take an element from the art on the belt buckle.  This art should be able to stand on it’s own on each medal.

50 Mile Winner: Puget Sound with Orca Whale
Marathon Winner: Mount Rainier
Half Marathon Winner: Forest Trees
10K Winner: Space Needle

There will be text across the top of the buckle/medals that say “Go Your Distance” with a slight emphasis on “your”.  Across the bottom of each medal will be the achievement:  

100 Mile Winner
50 Mile Winner
Marathon Winner
Half Marathon Winner
10k Winner

We want the look of vector art with a fairly high level of detail.  We want it to look cool, not cartoonish.  This is for kids in the 16 to 19 range so we want a design that they would feel proud to wear.  I’ve included some samples of what we are and are not looking for.  We’d like these to be fairly colorful and detailed.  You’ll want to do a little research on Seattle and the Pacific Northwest.  The Pacific Northwest can be quite grey and rainy, but we want this artwork to depict the Pacific Northwest’s more bright and sunny vibe.

I’ve included is a rough sketch of our vision for the buckle/medals.  The medals will be around 3 x 3 inches round and the buckle will be around 4.5 inches wide by around 3” tall.  The sample sketch is to scale.  I’ve also included some images of the different elements we are looking for from around the Pacific Northwest.

We are asking for up to three revisions so keep this in mind when submitting your quote.  Any work done after three revisions may be billed hourly.  We’ll want to start with the design of the belt buckle which includes all the elements.  Once the buckle is approved we’ll move on to each individual medal.

We are looking for someone that is highly skilled and artistic.  Someone who can do this type of work quickly and with high standards.  

Please include samples of work that are very similar to what we’ve outlined above and an a cost for completion.
